What parents are saying about their goalie’s development and experience at the Carroll Goalie School.

“Our son had a fantastic experience at the Carroll Goalie School! The coaching was well-organized, with a great balance of teaching multiple skills and drills while allowing plenty of time to practice each one before moving on. The instructors provided constructive, individualized feedback that helped build confidence and his technique. One of the highlights was ending the sessions with fun goalies-versus-coaches hockey games, which kept the atmosphere enjoyable while still reinforcing what they had learned.

As new goalie parents, we also appreciated how approachable Steve was. He took time to answer our questions about goalie equipment and offered helpful advice.

We highly recommend Carroll Goalie School to any goalie looking to improve their skills in a positive, supportive and fun environment. We can’t wait to come back!”
Allyson Trulson, Polk City, Iowa

“Our daughter who is new to goaltending had a great experience at CGS! We found the program to be very helpful as far as learning positioning and giving feedback for improvement. She enjoyed the mix of drills, building on her confidence and left smiling the second day. That same night we went back to our local association for a co-ed game and we could see the difference just two short days of camp had made. The coach even approached me after the game to tell me how well she did. If you’re looking to learn the position or work on your skills this is the place to do it!
Jessica Dingeldein, Hudson, Wis.

“Cole loved the the goalie school. He’s done 1:1 training before and was nervous coming into the group setting but immediately felt comfortable with the coaches and environment. His footwork improved greatly after three days and showed so much more confidence in the net as his first practice following the school. Thank you Steve and crew, we will be back!”
Brad Barickman, Chanhassen, Minn.

“My 10-year-old daughter had a blast at the Intermediate Camp! As a parent, I appreciated that while the campers worked hard, it was appropriately spaced apart to not overwork them. From what my daughter told me and what I observed, they explained the drills/techniques and the “why” in a way the kids could understand and apply. She also loved chatting it up with the coaches, especially “Grandpa Bill” We would happily attend again and recommend CGS to goalies who want to “up their game!”
Minn-Quan Huynh, Eden Prairie, Minn.

“It was definitely worth the time and money. Perfect program to teach the fundamentals, technique, and positioning for kids getting into goaltending. We’ll certainly be looking at the intermediate program next year. Mason loved it!”
Joe Mitchell, Farwell, Minn.

“My son had a great experience with the CGS. He enjoyed the challenges and learning that took place at the clinic. On the last day he asked if we could sign up again next year. That is all the proof I need. We can’t wait to work with the CGS again. Thank you very much.”
Jared Bulinski, Sauk Rapids, Minn.

“Jordan has been excelling a playing goalie, but after seeing him out with your coaches and working on the things like the basics, he is definitely a much better goaltender. I could see him improving and progressing just in the two short days.”
Nick Mitchell, Lake Saint Croix Beach, Minn.

“We really liked that there was lots of edge/skating work. Skating, and edge work is something that is overlooked way to often. As a fall “tune up” we thought it was very well done. Focusing on the skating, right on through the basics of goaltending. Even though our goalie did summer training and AAA, we found it extremely helpful to get back to basics! And that’s what a fall “tune up” should be. We thought it was awesome and bummed we waited so many years to do it. Will definitely make it a priority to get back next year.”
Jared Podratz, Ostego, Minn.

“We have been to quite a few of Steve’s camps and will be coming back for quite a few more. Always a great camp and many locations to pick from when schedules get busy. Our son enjoys the camp and the coaches are engaging and have fun with the goalies while making them work at improving their skills. I highly recommend this goalie camp.”
Kevin Rowe, Blaine Minn.

“My goalie was excited to learn new skills. After the first day he was excited to attend every day following. He learned better stick placement and improved on his mechanics overall. He feels more confident for the upcoming season and is excited to get more ice time in!
Elisa Montgomery, St. Cloud, Minn.

“The coaches were great. The drills were engaging. All of them had purpose. No one was standing around for too long. They even had drills that the goalies could do off ice that would help them improve.”
Shelly Ellingson, Maplewood, Minn.

“My son had a great weekend at Carroll Goalie School. The instructors were great and very helpful. All the students were also great and just good kids and very respectful. I am looking forward to returning next year and having Carroll Goalie School continue to work my son and watch him evolve into a good goalie.”
Heath WIlliams, Edwards, Illinois

“CGS is “seriously fun!” Our goalie enjoyed how structured, organized, and serious the coaches are during the clinic, especially when focusing on new skills. The coaches also know how to have fun with their students. The coaches quickly built rapport with each of the goalies. This is our goalie’s second year attending the clinic, and he travels from out of state. Though he comes from a long way away, he feels like the coaches know him and value his development. Thank you!”
Craig Pelissero, Redmond, Washington

“This was our first camp from Carroll Goalie School and it was so valuable for my young son. I was blown away by how patient, effective and positive the coaches were. Every single minute was spent teaching and drilling. My son worked hard, learned a ton and had so much fun he already asked to sign up again.”
Jolynee Choy, Minneapolis, Minn.

“This was our first time at the Carroll Goalie School and we were SO impressed. My son learned a ton, did some fun conditioning, got a lot of 1:1 help and had a great time overall. He’s already asking me when the next one is. The coaches are so kind but they also work the kids hard. We will absolutely sign up again next time.”
Sarah Bailey, Des Moines, Iowa

“Our son has been attending the Carroll Goalie School for three years. The clinics are well designed and keep the players moving. The content is focused and the coaches aren’t afraid to provide the appropriate instruction. We love these clinics and they have become the standard we hold other programs to.”
Paul Zackery, Apple Valley, Minn.

“We absolutely love the Carroll Goalie School. It’s Brody’s favorite camp every summer. He loves all the coaches and learns so much here. Super happy.”
Chrissy Everett, West Des Moines, Iowa

“My young goalie had a great first season and wanted to have some additional practice that wasn’t just reps in the net. CGS gave her a great foundation to build off of and helped to reinforce good habits and helper her to eliminate some bad ones. Overall, a great experience that was both fun and productive.”
Paul Warden, Mendota Heights, Minn.

“My son enjoyed his time at CGS! Coaches made the entire practice fun but informative! He already asked us to sign him up again next year!”
Brittany Bunn, East Grand Forks, Minn.

“I think the biggest thing is the coaching staff here makes it fun. Each year we try to get the boys to one of the camps and it’s been pivotal in getting them ready for the fall or a little tune-up going into the playoffs and other parts of the year. We can definitely tell the difference when they come to the Carroll Goalie School.”
Shane Hudella, Hastings, Minn.

“The coaching staff at CGS did an incredible job working with the kids. They adjusted the training to suit the individual needs of the goalie within reason. They kept everything fun and demanding at the same time which displays a high level of knowledge on the material being taught. We can’t wait to train with CGS again.”
Josh Bowers, Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina

“This was our first experience with a goalie specific camp and it was a great one! The structure was great and coaches were very efficient with the time. Our daughter felt that this camp really helped in her development as a young goalie. She loved every minute!”
Jenn Bernacki, Solon, Iowa

“The coaches that CGS has are the best in the business – they interact so well with the goalies, the students don’t even realize how hard they are working. My son gains more in three, two-hour sessions than in any of the week-long camps he has attended.”
Bud Samms, Cambridge, Iowa

My daughter’s love for being a goalie was renewed and strengthened in just the first hour of the camp! Each day brought different skills taught in a supportive and fun environment that kids of all ages and skill sets benefited from!”
Becky Moore, Cheyenne, Wyoming

“Steve Carroll and his team are amazing! They have elevated my son’s skills and fostered his love for the game and being a goalie!
Cecilia Teeuwen, Minneapolis, Minn.

“Anthony has been to several goalie schools over the last two years. He has the most fun with Carroll and feels he learns the most with Carroll.
Matt Muellner, Blaine, Minn.

“Our daughter really enjoyed the school and wants to come back again next year.”
Lorin Hatch, Golden Valley, Minn.

“Carroll Goalie School does an amazing job at their clinics helping goalies develop their skills and have fun doing it. Every clinic has an amazing group of coaches to help all the goalies learn and develop their skills. Every year my goalie attends I can see his skills improving. He loves attending Carroll Goalie School clinics.”
Tina DeLeeuw, Cambridge, Minn.

“Every year, ever since he was eight, he seems to get so excited about being at CGS, you just can’t get enough of that as a parent. The positive environment and it’s just a lot of fun for him. We’ll be back, you’ll see us for a while.”
Shelley Peterson, Becker, Minn.

“Carroll Goalie School helped our daughter improve her skills tremendously. All three coaches did an excellent job pushing them and teaching them skills. She even made a few friends along the way which was an added bonus!”
Jenica Adams, Rosemount, Minn.

“We were very impressed with the level on interaction between the coaches and the players. The ratio between coaches and players was great! The staff was engaged with my daughter and provided feedback throughout. My daughter came off the ice on the first day tired and with a smile on her face. She was excited for the next session. We’d definitely sign her up again in the future.”
Patrick Erikson, Otsego, Minn.
