Steve Carroll – Founder and Director of Goalie Development
- Goalie development leader who coaches boys and girls at the youth, high school and college levels.
- Started the Carroll Goalie School (CGS) in 1995. Has trained goalies from 21 states including: Minnesota, Alaska, Arizona, California, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming.
- 2024-25 – Goalie coach for Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey team (24th season)

- 2024 – Katie McCoy set individual record for most career wins in NCAA D-III women’s hockey history (82)
- 2024 – Katie McCoy set individual record for most shutouts in NCAA D-III women’s hockey history (34)
- 2023 – Katie McCoy named Most Valuable Player in NCAA D-III National Tournament

- Started 115 games during Mavericks’ career (second most in program history)
- Played 6,895 career minutes (second most in program history)
- Won 81 games (second most in program history)
- Top 10 finalist for inaugural Hobey Baker Award, presented to best player in men’s college hockey – winner was Neal Broten
- NHL free-agent tryout with Minnesota North Stars – invited by North Stars’ GM Lou Nanne
- Voted Minnesota State’s Male Athlete of the Century (2000)
- Inducted into MSU’s Athletic Hall of Fame (1995)
- Played three years of high school hockey at Edina-East (Minn.) for legendary coach Willard Ikola.
- Participated in Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament (second place finish)
- Inducted into Edina High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame (2005).

Todd Carlson – Coach
- 14th year on CGS staff.
- Played junior hockey following prep career.
- Played goalie for Richfield High School.
- Attended several CGS clinics during youth hockey career.
David Carroll – Coach
- 24th year on CGS staff.
- Coach at Minnesota Hockey’s CCM High Performance Shooting Camp.
- Coach, Eastview Youth Hockey Association.
- Played hockey and football for Augsburg University.
- Lettered in five varsity sports at Richfield High School including hockey, football, baseball, tennis, golf.
Ashley Checkal – Coach
- 8th year on CGS staff.
- Goalie coach at Minnesota Hockey’s CCM High Performance Dave Peterson Goalie Camp.
- Goalie coach, Armstrong/Cooper Youth Hockey Association.
- Played goalie at Gustavus Adolphus College.
- Played five years varsity hockey for Armstrong High School.
- Earned All-Conference and Honorable Mention honors.
- Participant in Minnesota Hockey’s CCM High Performance Dave Peterson Goalie Camp.
- Played on a U14 team at age 11.
Louden Hogg – Coach
- 4th year on CGS staff.
- Trained with Coach Steve Carroll during prep career.
- Goalie demonstrator at USA Hockey coaching clinics.
- Counselor at Minnesota Hockey CCM High Performance Dave Peterson Goalie Camp.
- Freshmen goalie at Holy Cross in 2022-23.
- Played two years of Jr. A hockey.
- Selected to the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup USA U18 Select team.
- Led Edina High School to state title as a sophomore.
Joey Hudella – Coach
- 6th year on CGS staff.
- Played for goalie for Hastings Jr. Gold team.
- Attended several CGS clinics during youth hockey career.
Amanda Kasper – Coach
- 9th year on CGS staff.
- Assistant director, goalie coach at Minnesota Hockey’s CCM High Performance Dave Peterson Goalie Camp.
- College counselor at Minnesota Hockey’s CCM High Performance Dave Peterson Goalie Camp.
- Staff member at USA Hockey Girls 15 National Player Development Camp.
- Goalie coach for Anna LaRose, the 2020 Let’s Play Hockey Senior High School Girl’s Goalie of the Year.
- Former goalie development director for St. Michael-Albertville Hockey Association.
- Played goalie for Gustavus Adolphus College and University of North Dakota.
- Attended several CGS clinics during high school career.
- Led her North Wright County High School team to the Minnesota Girls State Hockey Tournament.

Brooke Kimel – Coach
- 3nd year on CGS staff.
- Attended CGS for nine years in a row.
- Two-time participant at Minnesota Hockey’s CCM High Performance Dave Peterson Goalie Camp.
- Selected to play on several Minnesota Hockey CCM High Performance teams.
- Varsity goalie for Eagan High School.
- Referee for Minnesota Hockey.
Kaitlyn Klein – Coach
- 7th year on CGS staff.
- Earned All-American honors at Gustavus Adolphus College.
- Scored 43 goals, 36 assists for 79 points during collegiate career.
- Voted Most Valuable Player on her team as a college senior.
- Two-time MIAC All-Conference Team member.
- Has Gustavus Comeback Player of the Year Award named after her for inspirational comeback from spinal cord injury.
- Earned All-Conference honors three times at Wayzata High School.
Bill Manuel – Coach
- 9th year on CGS staff.
- Goalie development leader, USA Hockey’s Minnesota District.
- Assistant director/goalie coach at Minnesota Hockey’s CCM High Performance Dave Peterson Goalie Camp.
- Goalie coach for Buffalo High School boy’s team.
- Goalie coach for University of Wisconsin-Stout men’s hockey team.
- Coached at goalie schools with Stephane Waite, Montreal Canadiens goalie coach
and two-time Stanley Cup winner; and legendary Russian Olympic goalie Vladislav Tretiak. - Played goalie for University of Wisconsin-Stout.
