From the first time Steve Carroll worked with my goalies, I was sold on him. His knowledge of the game of hockey, and more importantly the goaltending position, is second to none. Steve has the gift of knowing what to teach and how to teach.
He also has the great gift of being able to work with all ages of kids extremely well. Every goalie that I have had train under Steve has improved exceptionally, many achieving very high levels of play. This is because Steve does not lose sight of the basic and fundamental skills of the position he is coaching.
This past season, Steve did the greatest goaltending coaching I have ever been a part of. When you see one of Steve's goalies take one of the State's best teams to three overtimes by himself and almost beat them, while facing incredible odds, you become a bigger fan of what Steve does.
Most Importantly, the kids love working with Steve!

Steve Carroll’s resume speaks for itself. To be a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award in an era goalies weren’t looked at too much, and his Hall of Fame awards at Mankato (Minnesota State) State and Edina High School are noteworthy. His being a former KARE 11 Sportscaster aids in his ability to communicate and relate with the kids, and that is a plus – in helping the kids understand not just what to do, but as to why.
